FCC give news of two Smart phones by SAMSUNG

Samsung Nexus S, R700

The Federal Communications Commission Web site is offering details to two new smartphones coming from Samsung.
The first, Phone Scoop reports, is for a device suspected to run Google’s Android OS, called the R700. It has a touch-screen, a camera, a headset jack and lock keys, and supports dual-band CDMA with EVDO 3G. Images published by the FCC show a device with rounded edges that’s dominated by its display, under which are call start and stop keys and a four-way navigational button.

The smartphone additionally is expected to feature a 4-inch Super AMOLED display, rely on a virtual keypad, run Android 2.3, or “Gingerbread,” and feature a Hummingbird processor. Also expected is support for EDGE/GPRS/HSUPA networks, GPS and of course email and Web browsing.
Another likely feature will be NFC (near-field communications) technology. At the Web. 2.0 Summit in San Francisco, Google CEO Eric Schmidt pulled an “unannounced product” from his pocket to show off its NFC capabilities, which enables devices to wirelessly communicate with a point-of-sale terminal in a store. Eventually, said Schmidt, mobile devices could “literally replace your credit card.”
With both its likely new antenna and new marketing, it’s expected that the Nexus S will enjoy a better reception than its predecessor.

Apple iOS 4.2 Hands On: AirPlay on Apple TV and iPad

Apple's highly-anticipated iOS 4.2 update for iPadiPhone, and the iPod touch finally arrived this morning, along with an update for Apple TV. PCMag got a sneak peak at the update, which enables AirPlay—wireless streaming of video, photos, and music from your iOS device to Apple TV—and AirPrint, Apple's wireless printing solution for the iPad. Also included in the update: better Word document fidelity (upon import an export) in iWork, and multi-tasking and Game Center are now on the iPad.
Despite the minor limitations, AirPlay is an excellent additional feature for Apple TV and iOS device owners.

Apple iPad for £200

Orange and T-Mobile are to offer the Apple iPad on contract, bringing the cost of the tablet down to £200.
Following O2′s recent offer of an Xbox or PlayStation 3 on contract (in lieu of a new mobile phone), it seems Orange and T-Mobile are now helping to make the iPad more affordable, just in time for Christmas.
Customers will be able to buy a 16GB iPad WiFi+3G for £200 when signing up to a 18 or 24-month contract (the exact details of the tariff will be released later). Higher-spec models are likely to be available too (namely the 32GB and 64GB models).
This will mean a higher cost of ownership than buying an iPad on its own and opting for a pay-as-you-go, or SIM-only contract (with a 30-day notice period), but with the lower headline price it is sure to attract the interest of consumers who were previously deterred by Apple’s high price
